Chapter 96 Aids Cross-Country Tractor Trip

A Florida man is driving a tractor cross-country to spread awareness of veteran’s issues, and recently stopped in for a fundraiser at “The Hooch” in Tallahassee, the headquarters of Vietnam Veterans of America Big Bend Chapter 96, on Oct. 3. The event raised money for Operation Second Chance, a nonprofit benefiting hometown heroes

C. Ivan Stolzfus is not a veteran himself, but wants to give back to those who have sacrificed their lives in service to the nation. This will be his fourth and last 17,500-mile trip on the John Deere tractor, accompanied by a Purple Heart medal given him by a combat Veteran on the first trip.

“(I want) just to remind people, we cannot forget these guys and girls,” he told WCTV. “The pain I see in them. I just keep thinking, ‘I got to keep going.'”
