Chapter 898 Gets Go-Ahead for Wall

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 898 got the go-ahead to erect a wall of honor in remembrance of fallen Vietnam veterans in the Crossroads region of southeast Texas. Victoria County commissioners voted to approved a designated at the town’s Patriot Park for the wall.

“That is the first step,” chapter member Ernest Montez told Crossroads Today. “We feel great.”

“I’m just happy as can be and thrilled,” member Armando Villarreal added. “[The] commissioners’ court granted us this parcel of land, [and] I’m ready to go to work. I’m ready to take off with it and see what we can do.”
