Chapter 355 Joins Memorial Day Tribute
Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 355 posted flags at the annual Santa Clarita (Calif.) Memorial Day Tribute on May 27. Sponsored by Santa Clarita Valley (SCV) Veterans Memorial Committee and Eternal Valley Memorial Park and Mortuary, the event included a WWII-vintage airplane flyover and music from the SCV Concert Band.
The SCV Young Marines placed flags on symbolic grave markers, and the Ronald Reagan Marine Corps League posted colors. City Councilman Bob Kellar emceed, and Iraq War veteran Mike Garcia keynoted. Local high school students read the names of the area’s deceased engraved on the Veterans Memorial Wall.
