Chapter 1051 to Host Agent Orange Town Hall

Agent OrangeVietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1051 will host a town hall meeting on Agent Orange in Bardstown, Ky., on Jan 25 for Vietnam veterans and their families. The group has held Agent Orange meetings in Elizabethtown, Bowling Green, Glasgow and Frankfort so far, and is planning more this year.

The purpose of the Town Hall is to make Vietnam veterans and their relatives aware of what Agent Orange is, how it affects those who were exposed to it and their offspring, and how veterans can get help. If a veteran is having health issues related to exposure to the toxin, the VA can provide medical coverage and a monthly stipend.

“I think the biggest thing for us right now is to try to get the word out there that their children are at risk, and their children as well,” chapter President David Cowherd told the Kentucky Standard. Cowherd was recently diagnosed with an Agent Orange-related cancer.
