Marsha Tansey Four Marsha Four served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps for three years. During her 1968-70 tour of duty in the Vietnam War, she was a registered nurse at the 18th Surgical Hospital at Camp Events and Quang Tri, and was awarded the Bronze Star. After receiving an honorable discharge as a First Lieutenant, Marsha Four worked as a hospital nurse until 1996. Since then, she has been the Program Director for Homeless Veteran Services at the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service and Education Center. Her responsibilities include supervision of a 50-bed transitional unit and a homeless veterans daycare center. She began the Philadelphia Stand Down for homeless veterans and served as the organization’s executive director from 1993-98. Four joined Vietnam Veterans of America in 1997. Since then, she has served in many positions in the organization, including serving on the National Board of Directors and chairing the National Women Veterans Committee. Since 1992, she has served for many years as the Chair of the Advisory Committee on Women Veterans at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. She is married to Tony Four and lives with her family in Springfield, Pennsylvania. |
